Responsibility

For the world to change, we must first change. Change means taking responsibility for ourselves and our environment, making it a better place to live, learn, and work.

We believe in building engaged and responsible leaders, aware of their actions and influence to impact the world. We aim to empower changemakers to make deliberate choices and take the actions necessary to improve their lives and the lives of those around them.

Courage

Courage is the first step to changing the world.

Behind brilliant stories of success, there is failure, rejection, and unexpected turns. Courage is the ability to persevere, and withstand those difficulties.

We believe courage is that magical thing that happens inside of us to help us push through fear, self-doubt, and anxiety and do things that feel hard, risky, or frightening. It’s the power to chase our dreams and the drive to follow our hearts against all odds.

Empathy

Empathy is the ability to perceive others’ feelings and to be concerned for their welfare. It’s a critical leadership quality that drives us towards actions that relieve other people’s suffering and collaborative environments that get things done.

We believe that to repair the world, we must venture into the mind and heart of the other, considering how we might feel in that person’s situation. We encourage inclusion, acceptance, and a compassionate approach to challenges.

Resourcefulness

Resourcefulness is the ability to create valuable and unique solutions to challenging situations.

We encourage organization, careful planning, and efficient decision-making skills to bring innovative ideas to repair the world, even when things seem impossible.

We hope to inspire resourcefulness and out-of-the-box thinking to develop creative mindsets that propose alternative routes to some of today’s most critical problems.

General

CADENA is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and assisting in crises and disasters worldwide, delivering hand-in-hand help to those in need.

CADENA developed Cadena Education, a specific branch focusing on teens and college students, committed to raising future humanitarians who can participate and assist in its missions. Led by a team of skilled educators and professionals, it runs international programs focused on leveraging the power of younger generations to repair the world.

ReGeneration, powered by Cadena, is an international educational program that combines hands-on, project-based learning with real-world challenges through interactive resources, social entrepreneurship initiatives, humanitarian intervention, and a community of forward-thinkers.

It aims to ignite awareness, educate about global challenges, and empower the future changemakers to transform the world.

Schools and organizations that want to ignite awareness and empower younger generations to make a change in the world. They can incorporate ReGeneration into their curriculum or as an elective.

It’s a three-part program focused on closing the gap between thought and action. It begins with an online course and ends in a humanitarian mission.

It is designed to last 6 weeks, but the program is flexible and can be adapted to each school’s academic calendar.

The Course

To spark interest and understanding into human’s responsibility to solve global issues and how social innovation can accomplish positive change.

Every school will receive a program package that includes the Virtual Course, a detailed Teacher’s Manual and Guide, and a printed humanitarian journal for each student to complete.

Students will learn to identify global challenges in the 21st century and understand concepts such as poverty, privilege, prosocial behavior, and empathy. They will examine real-life dilemmas of humanitarian actions and ask to apply critical thinking to develop sustainable solutions. Click HERE to access the course curriculum.

Schools will implement a Hybrid Program, where an active teacher incorporates activities during class to reinforce and integrate what students learn on their own in the course.

The course is designed to last 6 weeks. Around 12 to 16 hours, considering class discussions between students and the course facilitators.

Access to the internet and a computer or tablet with headphones. They will also receive a printed humanitarian journal to complete throughout the course.

The teacher is expected to facilitate and guide the students through the learning experience.

Support will be constantly available. We provide a detailed manual for teachers or facilitators and a two-hour one-on-one training session where we answer questions. It also includes a Feedback Session towards the end of the program.

The course does not have a cost. We count with the support of generous collaborators which help us in the mission of inspiring young minds to create a change in our world. If they wish to acquire the printed humanitarian journal instead of the digital version the schools would assume an additional cost.

The course is in English, but we are currently working on translating it into Spanish.

The course is accredited by Ort and Cadena. We provide a certificate upon completion.

Moodle is a platform for online learning that allows students and teachers to communicate and interact. It also has different evaluation strategies for teachers to grade and analyze the student’s progress during the program.

The course has a structure and should be done in a sequence to achieve the expected results.

It is recommended to do the entire course in chronological order; however, the affiliated schools may choose a particular topic to teach students not taking the course.

Social Entrepreneurship Competition

The competition targets middle school students who have completed the Regeneration Course. They will work in a team to develop an idea following the guidelines and templates. Our educational team will support the process by offering individualized feedback.

If the project is selected, it will advance to a second round, a regional competition where they will represent their school and community. The winners of the regional competitions will be invited to the third and final round in Mexico City.

In Mexico, students will present their project before a panel of multidisciplinary judges to select the winning idea. The winners will receive personalized coaching from a mentor/expert to bring their vision to live.

They will also learn about humanitarian aid and will have the opportunity to interact with underprivileged communities by participating in a humanitarian intervention.

The Humanitarian Intervention

The Mexico trip has a duration of 4 days where the winners of each country gather and learn about Cadena and its humanitarian principles.
To finalize, the students participate in a humanitarian intervention where they interact with each other while also creating an impact in local communities.

Students participating will be hosted in our secure campsite in cabins.

Expenses for winning students, including flights, lodging, and food, are covered by ReGeneration.

Students must be accompanied by a school chaperone (tutor or mentor). The plane ticket for the chaperone is not included. However, all travel expenses will be covered by the organization.
